Lake Elmo is a beautiful town dedicated to the well-being of all residents. There are so many recreational attractions, yet this area still remains serene and inviting. This admirable town has also begun what they call the Yellow Ribbon project to show support for all military families and those who serve or have served in the military.
Lake Elmo was also quite the tourist attraction at one time when people would travel from St. Paul to Lake Elmo for the fishing. Being as this town was very convenient in 1872 due to the St. Paul, Stillwater & Taylor’s Falls Railroad passing through, this town became a popular summer resort. This community progressed from trading ground, to tourist attraction and resort destination to agricultural center and afterwards an airport was built which kept the community alive. This journey has made the community what it is today as a beautiful and supportive suburb just a short commute from the twin cities.
